Alexandr Dolgopolov presented his unorthodox style, his penchant for playing the drop shot, in his run to the quarterfinals in 2011 Australian Open against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Robin Soderling on the way. After his success in Melbourne, Dolgopolov reach his first ATP final in Costa do Sauipe, but lost to Nicolas Almagro.
